Fairfax Fall Festival

In October a tradition has been set to attend the Fairfax Fall Craft Fair. It's always been a nice break to look at everyone's crafts and to get out and enjoy a fall day. This year was no different. Chloe, Emory and I had fun on this beautiful October day. Chloe and Emory really enjoyed riding the rides. Emory rode on her first pony. Chloe got her face painted. We listened to a great 80's band...and ate some yummy popcorn and ice cream.

Emory's Birthday Weekend

A little late but things have been busy around here... Emory turned two on the 18th of September so that weekend we gave her a ladybug party. The party was great and many friends and family joined us, including the Wrights from Michigan...thanks for coming guys! Beth's Crab Feast was the next night....and ended with a fantastic campfire. The whole weekend was very eventful and full of family fun. We visited many museums and monuments downtown. However when we got home from an adventurous day, we discovered my "nanny" had a stroke and had to rush with her to the hospital. So a few weeks later I can say...WOW. She's doing ok, healthy but still not speaking very much...every day though she says a few more words. Here's some pictures of our crazy weekend!

Gettysburg Excursion

Here are some pictures of our weekend trip to Gettysburg, PA. We.........visited Gettysburg College.....attended a rehearsal.......dinner.....wedding.......reception...... walked around downtown.....went to Walmart......swam at the pool.....went to Mount St. Mary's University....came home. What a busy weekend. Reflection....almost two year olds....t minus 4 days and counting perhaps should not attend majority adult weddings.....they just might not be able to be still....be quiet.....restrain themselves from climbing all over you while you are trying to keep your clothes on>....???? And there just might not be appropriate kid food? We still managed to have a good time and got home safely enough to post some pictures...and our first video!

Friends

On Saturday Emory and her friend Ava got to spend the day hanging out at our house. The had a five course meal at an exclusive restaurant called "The Backyard". Decided the food just wasn't good enough and they needed to make their own in the kitchen, but were too tired and just had to go to bed! Ava wishes Emmy would just go to sleep already! Emmy wished Ava could come play more often...she had such a great time playing with someone her own age!

Sun & Sand

We visited Bethany Beach this past weekend....the weather was great! Emory didn't like the waves or water so much...she said it was cold! However we did manage to play in the sand, but picture taking wasn't in her list of to do's as we had to fight for every shot. Oh Well...at least I still have a few other photogenic kids:-)

Happy 4th!

This fourth of July was like most others...going to a parade in Fairfax, VA....followed by one of our own. This years theme was olympic inspired from China "Pandamonium". We dressed in vintage clothing dung out of someones closet, inducted new members and crowned another grand marshall. Following the parade was a thunderstorm so my camera retired as to not get wet. We still ate although not as planned...under tents and trees and in the neighbors camper. After dinner the rain cleared up enough for a great fireworks display. Then Jon and I were off to celebrate our 10th anniversary with a little R&R in Hilton Head, SC. What a fantastic vacation spot!

Rain, Rain Go Away

May/June was particularly rainy here....I think we had a stretch of about a week when it didn't stop raining. After one really bad storm the sun came out and the streets were flooded. Emory and Chloe decided to make the best of it and splash around. What kid doesn't like puddles? The girls also had to check on Nanny's fish to make sure they weathered the storm without being flooded over the sides of the pond...they all survived just fine!

Lacrosse Rocks!

Here are a few pics from last Thursday...this was the girls last practice.

We are finishing up our lax season. This year everyone has been at the field. Jon and I are both coaching and have practices at the same time so the wee one...Emory gets looked after by an awesome mom of a girl/boy on our teams. Chloe's playing for a U-9 team, we don't keep score, but they are doing pretty well for a beginning team. Devon's team the Mohawks is currently undefeated, they play their last regular season game today. Playoffs will be this week and the final next Saturday...hope they make it!
